A Challenge Completed, A Goal Unfinished

Rantings And Ravings

Today, I will write the 50,000th word of my Novel. The NaNoChallenge will be met. I will write a sufficient number of additional words to secure the final victory. And, I will be proud! Of the 43,870 writers to begin this adventure, very few, comparitively, will finish. While that is incredibly good, because something in the order of 300,000,000 new words will have been written, it is also sad, because most of the words will die incomplete. No novel will be finished or published, or listed, or reviewed. The words will simply go the way of the shredder.

I believe my words deserve a grander honor that this. My novel will go on, until it is completed. It will be published. Not because it is worthy of the ages. But, because it is worthy of itself.

And, that is the lesson to all of us, in all of this. What you do should be worthy of note because it is you who is doing it. If you want the words to have honor, you must bring it to them. I believe, in this little novel, I have done so. At least to the point that they deserve to live in the light, and not in the shredder. We shall see what someone else thinks. Frankly, I couldn't care less.

Live Yer Bliss!
